Orlando Symphony Orchestra
Through music performed at the highest artistic level, the Orlando Symphony’s mission is to celebrate the region’s rich cultural diversity, by partnering with communities and educational institutions. Founded in 1991, the Orlando Symphony Orchestra is a legally established not-for-profit corporation and is Central Florida’s longest continuously performing professional symphony orchestra.
OSO musicians are composed of Florida’s finest full time professional musical talents. Since its inception, the Orlando Symphony has collaborated with leading international artists, as well as community-based soloists and performing arts organizations. The Orlando Symphony’s repertoire is diverse and encompasses the traditional orchestral canon, as well as opera, ballet, Broadway, pops, fusion, multi-media and chamber music genres.
Over the course of its near three decades of activity, the Orlando Symphony team has earned the position of being the principal source for securing the finest professional musical ensembles for conventions and large corporate events in Central Florida, including productions for Americredit, Unisys, Honeywell, IBM, McDonalds, to name a few.
Embarking on a new and ambitious phase, the Orlando Symphony Orchestra is now parent to the recently formed Orlando Symphony Youth Orchestra, further projecting its commitment to music education in the community.
In April of 2018, the Orlando Symphony Orchestra engaged internationally renowned conductor David Handel as its first ever Music Director. Along with David, the OSO has embraced a series of dynamic new initiatives, including recordings, multi-media programming and strategic inter-institutional partnerships.
The Orlando Symphony Orchestra is a legally established, not-for-profit, community-based cultural organization. Orlando Symphony concert programming, education and engagement activities are made possible, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and partner organizations.
